Hansko recently led Feyenoord Rotterdam to the Johan Cruyff Shield with a 4-2 penalty shootout win over PSV Eindhoven after a 4-4 draw in normal time. The 26-year-old defender has been linked with Atletico Madrid throughout the summer, but his club rejected three offers from the Rojiblancos, with the Dutch club demanding €35m, while the Spanish side offered only €26m.

Asked about Atletico Madrid reportedly offering him more than he currently earns at Feyenoord, the Slovakian defender insisted that was not true.

‘I don’t like it when the media says it makes me dizzy because of the salary Atlético is offering me. That’s not true. I have a good contract here. For me, it’s not about the money. I fully understand that Feyenoord is asking for more compensation from Atlético. This is not something I can control and there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s not a punishment if I stay at Feyenoord. I love this club,’ Hancko said.

Since joining the Dutch club from Sparta Prague in 2022. He has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 93 games. He has also represented Slovakia on the pitch in 38 matches, and has already experienced big stages such as the Champions League and Europa League.
